Close Circuit Television (CCTV):

CCTV has come a long way since the first installation that saw cameras used for monitoring rockets back in 1942.

Today, installing CCTV systems performs three main purposes other than just monitoring, detecting, recognizing and identifying. CCTV systems are typically used to help deter theft, reduce violence and increase productivity while providing a heightened level of safety and security.

NICI has been designing, installing, maintaining and servicing CCTV for over five decades. We provide security solutions for large industries, institutional and commercial buildings with an emphasis on Education and Healthcare divisions. From single camera installations to multi-camera systems, every installation is unique and rewarding.

User friendly Digital Video Recording devices allow for massive amounts of video retention. The Video can easily be stored, copied, managed and viewed locally or remotely over secure software and networks. Camera improvements are continually advancing with exceptional picture quality in bright, low and no-light environments. Cameras are no longer limited by just indoor or outdoor locations. Hazardous environments, extremely hot or very cold climates and exceptional heights are becoming more prevalent for camera locations.

The Federal Virology Lab (Level 5) and Manitoba Hydro are a couple of our higher profile institutional installations. Educational CCTV designs include St. John's Ravenscourt, St. Paul's High School and Kildonan East Collegiate. Canadian Naitional Railway, Gerdau Steel and Shell Oil all support industrial CCTV systems by National Industrial Communications Inc. Cityplace, in the heart of Winnipeg's downtown district is secured by CCTV provided by NICI.
